The Great Gatsby

The Great Gatsby
F. Scott Fitzgerald
Fiction

Easy read classic but it took me years to start it and finally I did in just two sittings. Short novel but every page serves its purpose for us to know the characters and expose them, to imagine the affluence and also the superficiality that entails having money to spend!

This novel is an American classic as it is always dubbed as representation of an American dream set in the Jazz age of 1920s. I have not seen the movies but it was made into film twice and has a broadway musical.

The question is, after chasing for wealth and pursuing what we love but is / who is not worth it, is American dream of wealth and true happiness attainable?
