Hawaiian Rice

              Chow fan, fried rice, Sinangag, Hawaiian rice or whatever we call it. We can do something about the cold or leftover rice. Instead of tuna, one can use roasted chicken left overs or ground beef. Canned or fresh pineapples can be used in this recipe. Ingredients: Garlic Onions Carrots   Canned tuna Rice pineapple tidbits  chives salt and pepper How to: In a deep pan, add water or oil, add garlic and onions.  Add carrots and canned tuna. Simmer. Add the rice and mix well. Add pineapple tidbits and chives. Adjust taste with salt and pepper.  Let cook until mixture is a bit dry. Serve in the pineapple peel or serve with fried egg on top.  

Dinner at Atmosphere, El Nido beachfront, Palawan

By GERLIE M. UY Just posting here the dinner we had at the  Thai-inspired restaurant called Atmosphere  fronting the el nido beach... Aside from being a bit  pricey, the resto has poor service when it comes to group diners. They evidently caters to foreigners who just loiter and orders a few food and drinks. In fact, we are the only ones dining upstairs as all of them are in the beachfront area sitting in the beanbag and mattress prepared by the resto. It is also disappointing as there is no service water too. And while I like the noodles, I was expecting for a rice noodles but they used the local thick noodles which can also be eaten in the sidewalk mami stalls.  lemon grass iced tea  Chicken pandan with peanut sauce.  Thai inspired noodles with chicken and soy sauce.
