Foot and Fire

Malalison Island is only a small island with a population of 750 and registered voters numbering to 400. The only populated area is concentrated at the back of the sand bar which serves as entrance to  the Island. There, the barangay hall is located as well as the basketball court which serves as their plaza as well. It was a quiet afternoon in November when I visited Malalison the first time and I can sense that the water was not as high as when I revisited the cave part in April shortly just after noon. What I immediately noticed about the rock is the a human head bust in the rock formation. Also, I sensed immediately that the summer sun dried out the same and it looked lifeless, unlike the rock I first visited. The beach front. Since it's already low tide, sightseeing is the only way to enjoy. However, we were so happy to find a spot for dipping and swimming. So we did while waiting for our lunch. We paid P300 for the entrance and set lunch.  There is no need to call ahead for this offer they have for the day trippers only. *** The entrance to the resort that whispers to us to come in! *** They have bicycles for rent. It is easy to get lost in the Island of Sipaway... The usual route to the resorts are paved, that is the good news. However, there are no road signs  and the paved road is escorted by coconut trees on both side.  Well, this is one fun activity to do, if you happen to book for an overnight stay in Sipaway. *** Giant Machete statue at the entrance of the pool. *** The pool is available for the overnight guests. But the ocean is open for the day trippers. *** They have a zoo which I did not explor...

We took the Tour A in El Nido. We rented the boat for P2,500, mask and snorkel (P75 each) and two kayaks (P700 each). We started the day with the secret lagoon, then the small and big lagoon then the zimisu beach and capped the day in the 7 commando beach where we enjoyed a sunless swimming as it rained on our way to the beach after the zimisu beach but then the rain stopped in the middle. We had a great time swimming and playing in the sand. Snorkeling at the Siete Pecados which is a site teeming with fishes and corals.  It was such a lucky day as we were the only tourist boat stopping at the time.  So it was such a happy stop-over. *** We chanced upon this bird resting on a floater near our boat. *** Our first snorkeling of the many days thereafter... *** The riches of the seas are teeming with these vibrant fishes at Siete Pecados,  our first stop at the Coron Island Loop in Palawan. ***                                And yes, this is an utterly not flattering photo of me under the sea.
