Island Garden City of Samal: Maxima Aquafun, a.k.a. Home of "Abyss" and "Super Drop"

Image
Two days in Samal Island is not enough to savor its beach offerings as one can go for a serene and leisure bathing under the sun or untimed laps in the pool and some exciting water activities for some loud days. There are endless options in Samal Island from diving, snorkeling, boating and jet skiing. *** *** The Super Drop is definitely one reason why we should come back to Maxima. The instruction photo says that the butt should land in that floating rainbow-colored bag before going to the beach. Isn't that exciting? *** *** Location: Brgy. Island Garden City of Samal: Twofies at the enchanting Hagimit Falls

Image
No rush can keep us from having our memorable sisters' twofies.  Hagimit Falls is interesting. First, we have a barangay in my hometown named Haguimit which has a man-made swimming pool with waters coming from the local spring. Second, the photos all over the website is amazing; I just can't get it out of my list of places to go despite the beach temptations. My verdict: the Hagimit falls are not gigantic but they are a series of brief falls that rush to many basins. It is a zen place for me. The paved steps down the falls from the entrance is quite a good walk experience because of the lush forest trees. While we were rushing to beat the imminent sunset, we were not oblivious of the beauty Hagimit falls. Since, this is located just near the Maxima Aqua Fun in the Penaplata District of Samal City, these twin sites are highly recommended for those who look for a one-day Samal experience.    Below are my eloquent witnesses: *** *** *** ...

Where's where in Island Garden City of Samal (IGCOS), Davao Del Norte

Image
The pool is on the left while the beach is on the right. Just choose your swim, and if you can't figure out, try both. 1. Camp Holiday, located in Babak district, is just near the Ferry going to Samal. A Holiday Bus is also available from Magsaysay Park up to Penaplata District in Samal island. It is highly recommended as home-base while one is in Samal. One can hire tricycle or motorcycle to bring one in his places of interest. Aside from kiddie pool, Camp Holiday has a pool for check-in guests and the fenced beach which can be enjoyed with day trippers. Weekend nights feature a band and fire dancing too which can be enjoyed while one is dipping in the pool or in the beach. *** Fruit bats abound in the area, hence the Guinness Certification! This is just in the mouth of the Fruit Bats colony 2. MONFORT BAT SANCTUARY. For an entrance of P100 one can tour the fruit bat colony. The foundation maintains the natural habitat of the fruit bats. Expect foul smell...
