Foot and Fire

Today, we are celebrating slash commemorating slash observing the Independence Day. While for the younger generation we call Generation Z and Generation Alpha are now basking in the fruits of peace and freedom brought by 12th of June without even asking how and why they have them now and without wondering if it can be taken away from them.  I belong to the Generation X slash Millennial so I still have the grasp of what could happen if freedom is taken away or what peace means outside the comfort of my brain or bed. I aspired to be a journalist because of the importance of the ideals of what press freedom in every democratic country.    Peace and freedom for the younger generation merely means they should be left to dress up like they are going to the beach when they go to school. Peace and freedom merely means they can post whatever they want in social media and claim irresponsibility if the post caused trouble to others. And so on and so forth. Peace and free...

In Part V, it is all about resilience. In education, we have to accept that change is the only constant. Meaning, Life is not a story to be told but to be lived,  it cannot be told or summed up in a simple slogan because it has to be lived along with the uncertainties.  Meanwhile in Meditation, it invites us to just observe how everything progresses so that one can think how to adapt. Just like the recent job lay offs of tech companies. all along tech companies are what we are thinking to be our direction to progress. But through meditation, we can pause and think for creative solutions or alternatives or answers.    (P.S. This is part of the series I was making in 2021.        The books I dearly hold at the moment. A Lecture on Feminist Ethics  What are the words that come to mind when we hear the word, Femininst? Girl, Female, Woman, Womanhood, Feminist, Maternal, Matriarchal, Herstory These are the words we associate with our being a woman. I wish I have another word    to set myself apart from the rest of the pack. But the reality is, I am not an original. I immensely benefitted from the thinking and story weaved by women who fought for what I enjoy right now and men who supported those thoughts and story.        Took up Part I of 21 Lessons in the previous blog . Now, we take up the Part II of the book which tackles Political Challenge by discussing Community, Civilization, Nationalism, Religion and Immigration.       Community. Humans have bodies, so there is a big challenge for maintaining  the separate lines between the online vs offline communities because there might come a time when tech giants might manipulate our entire bodies in the same way they currently manipulate our eyes, fingers and credit cards.         Civilization.
