Island Garden City of Samal, Davao Del Norte: Tasting Durian Popsicle at the Christ The King Fiesta of Brgy. Caliclic, Babak District

Definitely, attending a barangay fiesta is not on our to-do or to-visit list in Samal. But Lady Serendipity can never be resisted. We were there during the Christ The King Fiesta celebrated by the Samalinos residing in Brgy. Caliclic in Babak District, Island Garden City of Samal, Davao Del Norte. Celebrated every last Sunday of the month of November, the barangay fiesta is a happy event with church mass, basketball events, dance and videoke singing.   ***  *** Toys, accessories, number games, and ukay-ukay are very much alive in Brgy. Caliclic. *** *** *** *** *** *** *** These three tasted the Durian popsicle priced at "Tulo Biente"  which we initially thought P1.20 but it turns out it was Three for Twenty.  *** A pose with the vendor of the Durian Popsicle! *** Too bad, can't take home some. ***

Take your pick on this array of parked yachts! In my dreams... :) Holiday Oceanview Marina (which must be the sister company of the resort called Camp Holiday where we stayed for two nights as well as the bus line called Holiday) is the first ever of its kind commercial marina and exclusive yacht club membership in Mindanao that provides world class docking and secure mooring facilities for domestic and international yachts and sailboats.  Located in the in very northern tip of Samal Island in Ilihan, Babak District, the Marina has 110 parking slips for sailboats and can accommodate yachts ranging from 9.76 meters to 20 meters long. Where's where in Island Garden City of Samal (IGCOS), Davao Del Norte

The pool is on the left while the beach is on the right. Just choose your swim, and if you can't figure out, try both. 1. Camp Holiday, located in Babak district, is just near the Ferry going to Samal. A Holiday Bus is also available from Magsaysay Park up to Penaplata District in Samal island. It is highly recommended as home-base while one is in Samal. One can hire tricycle or motorcycle to bring one in his places of interest. Aside from kiddie pool, Camp Holiday has a pool for check-in guests and the fenced beach which can be enjoyed with day trippers. Weekend nights feature a band and fire dancing too which can be enjoyed while one is dipping in the pool or in the beach. *** Fruit bats abound in the area, hence the Guinness Certification! This is just in the mouth of the Fruit Bats colony 2. MONFORT BAT SANCTUARY. For an entrance of P100 one can tour the fruit bat colony. The foundation maintains the natural habitat of the fruit bats. Expect foul smell...
