My Sumilon-Dauin-Dumaguete Diary (Part 1)

SUMILON ISLAND is part of Oslob in Cebu. The east portion of the island is managed by Bluewaters Sumilon. The island admits overnight guests but it's quite expensive, and though it could be nice to stay in the island overnight, it is way out of our budget. And good news came to us when it offered a weekday and weekend promo for day tours only which can basically be for 8hrs stay in the island. Check their site for the latest.

But one thing I learned was that the island has rough seas from the east but has  a beautiful swimming area from the west side. They have free shuttle going to and fro there.

In that small lagoon, swimming is free for all. I really enjoyed it there that I thought 20 minutes just passed instead of 2 hours. There are arrangements from the Oslob Cooperative for boat tours with bilao lunch, I'm sure. We only learned of it from there.

But the east side deserves to be uncovered. We did kayaking in the bird sanctuary in the lagoon. It was  peaceful 30-minute paddling, though I need some arm excercise and squatting to have some endurance doing the kayak. Or i'll kayak myself only next time.

On top of the kayaking, Tilapia fishing is also a free activity for the kids and kids-at-heart. It's a catch-aNd-release activity though. No unli eating of tilapia...

They have a spa area which we explored but did not try because of our limited day tour (8am to 3pm) but it sure was nice becaUse there is a massage area where guests can see the open bluest sea while being massaged.

The entrance of the massage 3-sided room with one side open for view of the open seas have this big kawa or deep pan of flowers.

We had lunch at the cafe by the marsh. And the buffet lunch is just bountiful. Ala carte soda drinks, buko and halo halo are expensive though so we only had coffee after lunch.

We had a great time for pictute taking before i.mersing ourselves in the water.

They have infinity pools but I rared for the saltwater so a photo with the pretty pool won't hurt.

They have this santorini-feels area where one can trail and reach the grotto. Very short  but it was a picturesque site!

And oh I edit myself above to say, two photos by the pretty pool won't hurt.

Another oh! We explored the waters but we did not hike. I saw one signpost that reads YAMASHITA CAVE... well, that's another reason for taking a second day trip.
