Crazy Sweaty Kitchen Cook-off

Three university friends who love to experiment in the kitchen long before the celebrities decided to enrol in culinary schools and long before cooking is chic and fashionable and long before "instagrammable" and "elevated dishes" are in the lingo convene to a memorable crazy sweaty kitchen cook-off.

The two are former housemates whose rice cooker cooked more than rice. The rice cooker, whose pet name can never be revealed here, cooked ox tongue in mushroom and tomato sauces and it also cooked a thousand Lucky Me pancit canton, chili flavor. The other girl I call here as The Gal converted me to the side of chiliness.

The Guy became a chili guru after living in China, and The Gal worked in Malaysia while I started to get interested about Italian cooking, among many. This was about the time when Gordon Ramsay entered the television venture of his famous Masterchef.

While The Gal always convened with me about food from friendster days, The Guy caught up with us during the facebook days up to Airbnb days up to the time I have my own kitchen. And so my birthday December last year is super awesome.

The Guy
Super Hot Pot
with tasty peanut dipping sauce
(Beijing Style)
Duper Spicy Malaxianggou
Steamed Fish
He brought red wines

The Gal
Chicken Tikka Masala
Fish MAsala
Home-made (not Bring Home) Teamilk
Winner Florentine Biscuit
Cooked two-way Beef ribs in red wine sauce

What was left for me to do:
Vietnamese Summer Roll with peanut sauce to welcome them
My own version of Pizza
Fusilli Pasta in tomato sauce (and chili for The Guy)

To sum up for the happy tummies, the tea milk was a runaway first prize as well as the florentine biscuits. The hotpot was a delightful experience. There was some hoarding of Syrah wine but we didn't allow it to spoil the night, hahahha.  We talked the night away until 3am, in time when folks were awake for the Simbang Gabi at the time. Well done December 2018. Videos of the cook off will be uploaded here soon. Shall compress them into small files first. Let us all See them in Part Two before this year ends. Special Thanks to the four judges who have no choice but to taste the superfood... hahahahhaha.
