Our Sagada Adventure with lots of lemon pies and yogurts in between
Happy to have done the Sagada Trip in 2026. I had been raring to go there as early as 2010 and planned to do it in 2022 and 2024 but circumstances didn"t cooperate. Finally, May 2026 gave in.
I did this tour with my sister and cousin. We took the CODA Bus in Cubao at 9pm as it has a CR and arrived Sagada at 9am. I booked via their website. The bus is comfortable with medium aircon as it had a trouble on our way. The site warned of coldness so we went in warmed, only to take our jackets off. Travel time is 11 hours, given the troubleshooting, we had 12 hrs with 2 or 3 stops. Fee P1,400+ per pax one way with insurance
When arrived at 9am and directly went to the Tourist Information Center. We paid 50 pesos each and kept the tickets for reference during the tours, and we also took an optional insurance for 100 each for 3 days.
We checked in early to our homestay SAGADA LABANET (P1,500/3pax/night) which is just beside SEGA Tours and had welcome freebies of giant heavyweight cabbages. We arranged all our joiner tours there. All fees are uniform so the transaction was always smooth. No fuss!
We had lemon pie and yogurt parfait at Marie's after lunch at the town's market.
Day 1 - Paytokan Trail & Ganduyan Museum 1:30pm to 4:00pm
We did the Paytokan Trail consisting of the Church and the echo valley cemetery and the hanging coffin, coffee plantation trail going to Bokong Falls after passing by a cave with waters. After reaching the highway, we rode a jeepney going back to the town center where we said bye to our guide before going up to the Ganduyan Museum. Found an interesting piece there.
Paytokan Trail: 1000 for the guide
Museum: 100/pax
DAY 2 - The next morning, we had our MARLBORO A.K.A. SEA OF CLOUDS trail hike and BLUE SOIL so woke up at 3:30am and went down to our van at 4am. We were joined by 4 other hikers so that we paid less. We divided the fees which were good for 10pax. We did this enjoyable trail hike for 4 hours, finishing at 8am despite the fact that we were joined by the slowest hikers among the pack that day.
Guide: 1,600/for max of 10pax
Service: 1650/for max of 10pax
We took our baths, rested and had a hearty lunch at SALT AND PEPPER and tried yogurt and lemon pie at the yogurt house. We rested and at 2pm, we went to the WEAVING CENTER to observe the weavers there doing their thing, and buy some woven goods. NO FEE.
Tricycle rounder is at 25/pax.
From the weaving center, we went to the SAGADA POTTERY where we tried to get our hands dirty. One can opt to buy her output. P300/group. If you opt to buy, P900 plus shipping. They will bake and glaze the mangkok before shipping in 3 months time. Trike at 50/pax
At 4pm, we hiked up the SAGADA CELLAR DOOR where we had crafted ales and homemade tapas al fresco and all under the pine trees and we waited until 6pm for the bonfire. Tried their Ale and it tastes good. The beef tapas are beef jerky type, so you'll never be surprised. At 6.30m, we left after calling our trike contact. P200/3pax max in a trike. Minimum Order of P300 per pax.
DAY 3- We had our Sumaguing Cave at 6am which we did for 2 hours. It was enjoyable and can be handled/trekked/climbed/crawled by someone with just enough courage. This is where we had the most picture-taking. By the way, we conquered the 3rd deepest cave in the country, says our Guide Keanu. Here we were joined by 2 girls so we split the bill of P1,400.
Guide: P800/5pax
Service: P600/max of 10
For lunch, we had the roasted chicken of Five Star whose baked chicken we loved the first time we passed by it. After that, we had lemon pie at the LEMON PIE CORNER in one place then had strawberry yogurt and strawberries at the STRAWBERRY HOUSE.
At 1pm, we left Sagada for Baguio.
