Buruanga's pristine waters and quiet shoreline
Buruanga's stretch of white sand is not as long and continuous as the Station 1 to Station 3 of Boracay but it sure charmed me by its clean shores and crystal clear waters. I am a sucker for clean waters and I believe that a saltwater touching the skin is the ultimate therapy there is for one happy soul and healthy body. The backdrop of the beach is a stretch of trees too giving a cool shade and protection from the seething heat of the sun this dry season which officially started last March 26 for this year.
The beach floor has lots of rocks when it is low tide which are not sharp so they were not bothersome but some areas are clear so I go to that area so I can clearly see fishes and fries swimming along with me.
Kayaking is one activity that can be done aside from island hopping by boat. But I soaked in the beauty of the sunset on this side of the archipelago. We had a drizzling afternoon on our first sunset and a pretty fast one the next day.
We stayed in a rock-perched accommodation which is so spacious and boasts a good view of the shore while resting in a veranda with duyan or hammock, and the walk up and down going to the beachfront is not a bother given the cool shades of trees and the beauty of the plants along the way. We enjoyed the simple food and some drinks offered in their canteen. The cellular signals have no reception there but they have a tingi-tingi or Piso wifi available for a minimal fee.
The property owners near ours are quiet and have day tourists too. I love the vibes of peace and quiet as we pass through these properties when leaving the beach. Our hotel is located at the end of all the accommodations fronting Hinugtan Beach area so we need to pass by them all when opting not to do the walk along the shoreline.
Near our resort is the Tuburan Cove (will blog separately on this) which is just on the other side of the rock dividing it from our resort. I think it is just a few steps away during low tide. But I did not dare walk around the perching rocks because we hurried back to our resort's shoreline to get the direct view of the setting sun at the time.
