Foodtripping in Sipalay, Negros Occ. and along the way

Fresh mango and watermelon shakes, Chicken wings and Quesadillas and crunchy battered fries at Nataasan Beach Resort in Puntaballo (white sand area),

Super fresh Grilled Fish and red fish Tinola at Tay Oming's at the city proper (not good iced coffee though but I can smell baye-baye while sipping it which must be good, right?)

Saucy delish Caldereta nga kanding (goat with tomato sauce) by Tita Basyon (not a resto though)

Not so good grilled pecho (chicken Inasal) as it's dry and tasty sotanghon guisado at the Inasalan Park, city proper where bands play every Friday.

Super full at Perth resto with its Sotanghon guisado, fish sinigang and the only pic I took, Fish Sisig. Fresh mango shake is highly reco.

Fresh fish from the market cooked and eaten by the seashore of our chosen resort. We have tales on blue marlin and milkfish to tell. At the sugary sand area.

On our way home, we had Arroz Caldo with a view of the mountains at Abaca Cafe in Cauayan, and their native and iced coffee are a good try.

But food tripping in Sipalay does not end without the experience of eating the dried fighting fish called Barongoy, a namesake of the town's festival.

Blue marlin and tangigue fresh from the wet market are exquisite for grills and made extra exquisite when dipped in sinamak or spiced vinegar or paired with spicy garlic.

Had thumbs up tuna pizza and chicken burgers with ice-cold buko juice at Taka-tuka beach resort at Nauhang sugar beach area.

TO CONCLUDE, I give thanks for the gift of smell and taste, two sensory experience threatened by this pandemic.

FOODTRIP ALONG THE WAY HOME

Last but not the least, we stopped by Kalamay Cafe which is a tiny but chic coffee house in downtown Kabankalan which offers sweets by an accomplished pastry chef.

We could not be accommodated in the cafe so we took out Brazil Coffee and one of each sweets in the day's array.

Sadly, the sconce was not given out to us out of confusion as we first tried to dine in the coffee but then decided to take away at the last minute because we were not seated.

Simply happy to try the pistachio-topped ones, the blueberry muffin, and the surprisingly soft mango tart and also the wonderfully soft burnt cheesecake.

Postcript: just Got refunded by Kalamay for the unserved sconce.
