When in Guimaras, do these!

I was treated by a friend to a tour of Guimaras last May 2018 when the Manggahan Festival was going on. We went to Roca Engcantada  which was declared as National heritage last 14 August 2002. Outside the pretty white mansion with ornate details is a ground planted with coconut trees and the native Bangkiling or the sour gooseberry tree which I often miss. Too bad, there were no fruits when we were there. We toured the place and took our selfies and poses in all of the nooks and crannies and I had two favorite photos below aside from the one above where I enjoyed the sun and the coconut midrib casting its shadows on my face.

Do the island hopping from morning till noon and trek, swim, collect stones, sip coconut water and have several jump shots in between. The waters are clear and if you ae lucky, you can observe marine life at the SEAFDEC where turtles and and saltwater milkfish or bangus and other fishes swim.

Visit the Lighthouse and have an unlimited picture taking in this ruin which also houses the new lighthouse. The old structure is enchanting and rugged and looks great as your instagram account post. Don't forget to buy an artisan-made miniature boat or galleon boat/ship found at the entrance. They are pretty to look at your desk when you get home.

Guimaras Mountain Resort is recommended when one wants to have a dip in the pool. They have this high-ceilinged restaurant with charming chandelier and the open al fresco dining tables is curtained with floral vines that it gives one the feel of the mountain or nature resort. I like it here and the food selection is nice.

Manggahan Festival has no further ado but all about mangoes, mangga, mango, mangga....... Here are our after-the-fact of eat-all-you-can. Mine is the one with full board trash... hahaha

Olivia's Kitchen is highly recommended. The place is cozy with some intimate mementos of the kitche's namesake Olivia (I love the huge painting in one of its rooms) and has great pasta selections and of course, the mango shake is superb. Deliciouso...

Andana is the hotel resort that Guimaras boast of. It has many rooms and cozy restaurants and bars peppered inside the complex. This is an amazing offering to tourists given the pools and the food and the drinks in the bar.

Visit the Windmills and find your place as well as drop by the smallest plaza to have your selfies. Doing these last two complete the mission of touring Guimaras.
