The view of the mountains first enticed the owner Architect Albert Garbanzos
to buy and develop the property as he likened what he saw to Mt. Fuji of Japan.
According to the story, the original owner of the land sold the 24 hectare property to him because of his good purpose of developing it into a resort and of preserving at least 10 percent of the land by planting trees. This is what we came for. Although the sun is up at nine o'clock in the morning,

To find water source, Garbanzos has to tap a surhuwana (faith healer) from La Castellana, Negros Occidental to look for the source and when she came to look for it, she went near the Balete or lunok tree and she declared that she was told by the diwata that she liked him and she will give him water.

According to Garbanzos, when the first room of his house was finished, he was amazed when one wee hour in the morning, he saw a pair of Mariposa butterflies perched on the window panels along with a hundred of them. He considered such an unexpected phenomenon, a welcome for him to his new home from the Diwata.
